Overview

These are designed for small dwellings and extract air via duct work connected to the warm areas of the building such as bathrooms, kitchens and utility rooms.

The air is taken from the warmer areas of the building and transferred onto the heat pump's refrigerated circuit, which allows it to heat either water or the building it's self. This system is ideal for flats and social housing.

Ventilation, which means totally hygienic inside air, is a basic requirement for living in a healthy house. Controlled domestic ventilation with heat recovery reuses the energy from the exhaust air. Not only that, the additional heat generated internally from lighting, people and domestic appliances is also utilised through heat recovery

Fresh outside air is supplied to the house through cleanable outside vent holes. The air overflow occurs under the door or through the overflow vent holes. The warm inside air (exhaust air) is drawn into the ventilation system. Warm exhaust air is supplied to the heat pump for heat recovery. When the inside air has passed through the heat pump the discharge air is released into the open air. Before this, the heat pump has extracted sufficient energy from the exhaust air to produce hot water.

Installer Tips

Duct work is required to transfer exhaust air from warm rooms of the house to the water source for heating. For this reason it can be uneconomical to retro fit this product and is usually more suited to new build or renovation projects. The ducting should be designed in at planning stage to ensure the system is incorporated efficiently and effectively.
